Honor Society, Paying for Fake Benefits

I joined honor society when I was in college because I believed that it would help me get a job when it came time to graduate. They advertised access to internships and job search tools, networking opportunities, member discounts, and scholarships. I saw it as a great opportunity to get ahead, but it only set me behind. The membership ended up being really expensive. Every month I would have a new charge to my account for miscellaneous fees charged by them. The job search engines they provide are accessible to the public. I also never got any sort of networking assistance. They do not connect you with anyone. I inquired about it but was told that I have to be a member for a certain amount of time. By then I would have paid Honor Society half my tuition. Not worth it. It is just a scam.
