I ordered an inclined platform wheelchair lift from Adaptive Environments not too long ago. I got injured in a car accident that has caused me to be paralyzed from the waist down. I needed it to get up and down my stairs.
It has only been a month and I am already having problems with the contraption. It is supposed to last me years, but the way that it is working now, I am afraid it is going to send me flying off the stairs. It makes a loud noise and stalls on the way up, a lot. I was home alone when this happened at one point and I was stuck midway up the stairs for a half an hour! I did not know what to do.
I do not know if it was a problem caused by the technician or the mechanics of the chair itself, but I am having the hardest time trying to get someone to come and look at it!
I am afraid to use the chair, but I have to get to my room.
I have called adaptive environments multiple times. They promised a technician within three days, but it has been a week.
They do not have much care for the disabled.
